Located across the community chapel of Barrio Saluysoy, in the city of Meycauayan, Bulacan, Francia's Puto Special has been known for almost four decades for it's deliciously filling ricecakes.




Martial Law Baby

Entrepreneur Francia Villavicencio Zamora, a Batangueña married to Felix Zamora, started serving ricecakes at their eatery, in addition to the regular menu of lugaw and pansit on September 22, 1972.

As they vividly recall, the recipe for Puto was published on the September 21, 1972 issue of Taliba -it's last, as it was the same night when Martial Law was declared; Having that recipe as guide, they started serving Puto the following day, it became an instant favorite among customers, and they have been producing ricecakes since that day.

Francia Zamora has reinvented puto by adding cheese or salted egg as topping, and pao or sweetmeat as filling. Served with ginadgad na niyog and the occasionally available or pre-ordered Dinuguan.

Packed in colorful boxes, Francia's Puto has become a popular pasalubong to many, and a staple to family gatherings or handaan. Puto lansong or Puto sa bilao may also be ordered.

Baked Empanada, Kutsinta, Pichi-Pichi, Tamales, at iba pa


Francia's baked Chicken Empanada, a healthier alternative to the traditional deep-fried empanada, and other Native Delicacies such as Kutsinta, or brown rice cake, with grated coconut; Pichi-pichi or cassava cake with grated cheese; and Tamales or steam-cooked corn dough with salted egg topping are also available or may be ordered.
